X-Ray Degree
To become an X-Ray Technician you have to obtain your certificate or degree in high-quality training
program. Bachelor degrees, generally, improve one's immediate earning potential but students still have
option of pursuing a one-year certificate, two-year associate degree, or four-year bachelor degree. To
become an x-ray technician, it is important to seek a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic
Technology(JRCERT) accredited program.
Many employers prefer radiographers registered by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Registration is also a requirement of licensure in many states. X-ray technician program will provide
you instruction in complex radiographic equipment and techniques, radiation physics, patient care, and
the sciences, including anatomy, physiology, radiobiology, and pathology.
Scope for X-Ray Technicians
Most x-ray jobs require you to Analyze and interpret images with a physician, operate complex radiologic
devices and obtain diagnostic images, maintain radiologic facilities, equipment, and records and provide
oral or written summaries of findings. X-ray technicians can expect a rewarding job with good pay.
Employment of licensed radiographers, trained at x-ray tech schools, is expected to increase by more than
20 percent through 2012, reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
