About Drafting Design Programs
In our basic, intermediate, and advanced courses, you will learn to create two dimensional and three dimensional drawings. Additional coursework will include residential drafting, commercial drafting, structural steel detailing, topographical drafting, and solid modeling to name a few. Employers are most interested in applicants with well-developed drafting and mechanical drawing skills; knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology; and a solid background in CADD techniques.

Scope for Drafters
Virtually everything today is designed on computers, and with the right training, you can be the designer of the tallest skyscraper in the world, a new home for your favorite professional sports team or the developer of a new city park. Upon graduation, you will be working as an entry level or junior drafter doing routine work under close supervision in fields such as, Electronics, Manufacturing, Architectural Design, Construction, Government, and Engineering. Opportunities should be best for individuals with at least 2 years of postsecondary training in a drafting program that provides strong technical skills, as well as considerable experience with CADD systems.
